Just an aside... if, one cold winter day, you have the urge to toast marshmallows with your nine-year-old in the fireplace, and you futher decide to use an old crooked metal knitting needle that would otherwise go to waste, do not--I repeat--do not, under any circumstances, try to scrape off the gooey part left on the needle with your teeth until the needle has cooled.

This public service announcement brought to you by your local knitting savant.

It's happened. I'd be posting patterns now, but I've been Sudokuized.

And here's something curious--I haven't seen the cheat sheat I made myself... So here it is for you--eight-one squares with 1-9 listed. I mark off the number I know that the answer cannot be, and write in the answer with a Sharpie, so I will see it clearly.

Use it to your advantage.

Here is a recipe for anyone interested... it's really great, and works real well with Hershey's Butterscotch chips.

1 cup powdered nondairy coffee creamer
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1/4 cup mint chocolate chips
1/2 cup miniature marshmallows

  1. Combine all ingredients; store in an airtight container.

Makes 2 1/3 cups mix.

DIRECTIONS FOR GIFT RECIPE CARD:
Add 2/3 cup boiling water to 1/3 cup Hot Cocoa Mix. Makes 1 cup serving.

Gift Tip: Package mix in a plastic bag and give in a holiday mug with gift recipe card attached.
